What you can do from abroad

  • Verify your identity remotely, with a live check against your passport or Ghana Card
  • Pay in Ghana cedis by an available card or mobile money option; dollar-priced fees are converted at the published rate
  • Approve your application electronically
  • Follow every status change and message your formation lead on WhatsApp, in your time zone
  • Receive your documents in your secure vault, with certified copies couriered to you if you want them

Our support runs to 21:00 GMT on working days, which suits founders in the Americas as well as the UK.

What still needs a witness

A company registration includes declarations that must be witnessed. For founders abroad, we arrange this with a partner notary, or with a commissioner for oaths in Ghana by video where the law allows it. Where it does not, witnessing is scheduled for a visit home or arranged at an embassy, as counsel advises.

Witnessing is a professional fee, shown on its own line. The current estimate is GHS 150.

The resident-director rule

A company needs at least two directors, and at least one of them must be ordinarily resident in Ghana. If every founder lives abroad, you will need someone resident in Ghana to serve as a director. It is a real role with real responsibilities, so choose someone you trust and who understands what the company does.

A registered office in Ghana

A company’s registered office must be a physical address in Ghana, with a GhanaPostGPS digital address. If you do not have one, a registered-office service is available as an itemised option.

What it costs

Our service fee is priced in US dollars. Government fees are set in cedis by the Registrar and shown separately, converted at the day’s published rate when you pay (approximately GHS 11.00 = US$1).

If you are not a Ghanaian citizen

If any shareholder is a foreign national, the company may also need to register with the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority. Read foreign investors and the GIPA Act, 2026, or start on the foreign founders page.

A word on informal agents

Many people abroad rely on relatives or informal agents. That can work, but it often means cash payments with no breakdown, original documents out of your hands and no record of what was filed. Whoever you use, ask for every fee to be itemised, and keep copies of everything submitted in your name.
